Description

BREAST SURGEON
We seek a board-certified or board-eligible surgeon with a focus on breast surgery for a clinical track faculty position at the University of Michigan with preference given to candidates at the Assistant Professor level. The Division of Surgical Oncology is a collegial, dynamic, and academically productive group committed to delivering state-of-the-art multidisciplinary care for patients with malignant, high-risk, and benign breast disease.
The Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan, founded in 1850, is internationally recognized for excellence in patient care, research, and education and works closely with the Rogel Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. This recruitment offers a unique opportunity to join a growing breast program and contribute to innovative clinical and programmatic initiatives supported through the Weiser Family Center for Breast Cancer.
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed dedicated fellowship training in breast surgery, although applicants with fellowship training in complex general surgical oncology and a strong clinical interest in breast surgical oncology will also be considered. Clinical responsibilities will primarily be based at University Hospital and the Rogel Cancer Center in Ann Arbor, with opportunities to support program growth at affiliated regional locations including Brighton, East Ann Arbor, and Chelsea Hospital.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to multidisciplinary breast care and an interest in teaching residents, medical students, and fellows. While the primary focus of the role will be clinical care, opportunities for involvement in research, education, quality improvement, clinical trials, and multidisciplinary program development are encouraged and supported. Leadership opportunities within the breast surgery fellowship may also be available depending on candidate qualifications and interests.
The candidate will join the Department of Surgery at an academic rank commensurate with the applicant’s credentials. If you are interested in joining us, please send your curriculum vitae to:
